Kůže

The novel by the young Russian writer Yevgenia Nekrasova tells the story of two women, a black slave from the American South and a Russian serf, whose destinies intertwine. Stylistically bold, the narrative thematizes both general and female emancipation and meanders through a broad storyline to a reflection on contemporary Russian society, torn between East and West. The narrative is carried by a distinctive, rocking fairy-tale style with elements of fantasy.
