The selection of Pepíček's small texts, short stories, and recorded conversations must be seen as marginal notes, fragments or comments on his own life. The texts, which were written out of a compulsive feeling to merely record them on paper, were never intended for the reader. After all, in his modesty and shyness, Pepiček would never
...would have thought of or aspired to. Certainly, these are not literary
literary gems, ingeniously thought out with a twist. However, these texts are all the more sincere and touching for a certain inwardness, the comicality of the situation.
