V nebi je trůn

At the time Svatopluk Karásek wrote these texts, he received the only official award for them - eight months of unconditional imprisonment. He had had problems with the authorities since childhood, which were reflected in lowered behavioural grades. However, he was able to doggedly pursue his goal and did not look back at the difficulties. He graduated from divinity school, took up a position as a parish priest, but after only three years his state approval to serve as a clergyman was revoked. However, he was able to reach a very wide community with his songs. After his release from prison, he signed Charter 77, occasionally played at secret concerts, and in March 1980 went into exile in Austria. Shortly thereafter, he settled in Switzerland, where he worked as a minister permanently until 1997. The book In Heaven is a Throne is a representative selection of his best texts from 1970-1998.
