Trieste centrale

Trieste Centrale is a small offshoot of the great novel Winterberg's Last Voyage. Mr. Winterberg travels from West Berlin to Trieste, Italy. He wants his wife to be happy. The Iron Curtain between the European countries is still firmly in place, but something like this cannot upset him. He's going by train, of course, because railways outrun everything: the Alps, the borders, but not death.
