Gail is studying psychotherapy at an institute in London. She has a teenage son and a boyfriend she is not sure about. Suddenly a Czech expatriate, Alena, her first client, enters her life, suffering from the idea that she is being watched. The painful secret she carries has almost rendered her speechless. From the scraps of information, Gail slowly begins to piece together Alena's story until she unwittingly finds herself in the role of detective. As she does so, her personal life falls further and further apart.
