The collection Magor's Morning Song is more than twenty years apart from Magor's Children, but they are united in Jirous's poetic texts by a rather exceptional playfulness and lightness. Mostly absent here are those serious "existential" themes and testimonies about the horrors of living in communist prisons and in relative non-prison freedom. Magor's Morning Song is Jirous's first collection published in samizdat (1975), which consists of causerie and literary experiments, whereas Magor's Children was compiled by the author in preparation for the first edition of Magor's Summa from the poetic harvest of the first half of the 1990s: in comparison to the similarly dated collections Magor's Twilight and Wydrzie Mediocri (1997), Magor's Children sounds much more joyful.
