Fata morgána (Edice Mikroliška, sv. 12)
Around the desert, sand, dunes, sand sea, mountains, tons. And one little camel that got lost from its mother. It got thirsty and hungry. He's trying to eat cacti, he's being poked in the mouth. It was in trouble, but it turned out all right.
While Alena Šotolová can pack fear and happiness, despair and relief into 24 pages, Margarita Khavanski knows that the desert doesn't have to be monotonously sandy yellow and the night black. Fata Morgana plays with many shades of red, letting blue skies flash here and there, and doesn't lose its colourfulness even in the night scenes.
The pages are full of hairy camel chins, and a goat wanders by here and there. And a running fox? Without her, the lost camel among the dunes wouldn't stand a chance.
