Egopolis

For a whole year the poet wanders the streets among drunks, bums, cops and gamblers "from the Garden of Eden to the Jewish Furnace". In autumn, the leaves rustle into silence, or a cassette from a Vietnamese market seems to beep, winter drags on until even the branches fall off, in spring the thaw loosens the unpleasant down and the sultry summer despair confirms that no enlightenment awaits us, but escape is also impossible.
To live in Žižkov - this is not a fate, this is a life attitude. And Viktor Žižkov is its prophet, chronicler, critic and victim.
