The publication is intended for students, designers and architects involved in interior design. The aim of the publication is to explain the basic relationship between the dimensions of the human body, the parameters of furniture and the free space in the apartment. Not only the average dimensions of the population are important, but also the specific needs of a particular client or household member. The book is structured according to the activities performed in the apartment into separate chapters. In addition to the dimensions of furnishings, furniture or equipment, functional and handling areas, desirable spacing and clearances are given. The parameters of kitchen, table, seating, lounging and storage furniture, which form the basic equipment of every household, are thoroughly presented. The chapters are supplemented by a look at the needs of the elderly and handicapped. The theme of children, whose needs have seen the greatest dynamism over time, is also incorporated into the consideration of interior design. The book concludes with the topic of technical equipment and interior colours, which, in addition to spatial parameters, significantly influence the user's comfort in the home. The expert editor of the book is Jiří Pelcl, who is also the author of the Introduction.
